Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment is a method of treating unwanted hair. The purpose of the treatment is to achieve cosmetic improvements by reducing hair growth by using Intense Pulsed Light to disable hair follicles.
Ellipse Hair Removal is a fast and safe treatment which offers you clinically proven long-term hair removal. The process uses light, which is absorbed by the pigment in the individual hairs. The pigment converts light to heat, a process which disables the ability of the hair follicle to grow.
Hair contains pigment (melanin) that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. The hair transmits this heat into the hair follicle, which is then destroyed and rendered unable to produce a new hair.
How does Ellipse Hair Removal Work?
To achieve long lasting or permanent hair reduction, it is necessary to destroy the hair follicle from which individual hairs grow. Well controlled pulses of light penetrate the upper skin layer and are absorbed by one of the body’s own natural chemicals, melanin in the hair contained in the follicle. Melanin converts the light energy into heat.
This heat is transferred to the hair follicle, which is destroyed, making it unable to produce a new hair. The treatment is only effective on growing hairs as these are still attached to the follicle. The majority of our hair is in the resting phase which explains why more than one treatment is necessary.
Is the Ellipse hair removal treatment method painful at all?
The remedy sensation varies from region to area and from customer to customer. Because the light energy is absorbed by melanin, the sensation that is felt depends upon the amount of melanin observed inside epidermis and also the hairs. Most clients describe the sensation as pretty moderate nearly like the snapping of a rubber band, which only lasts for a short moment.
Will I be able to see the results from Ellipse Hair Removal instantly?
The heat from your Ellipse system kills the hair but the hairs remain inside the follicle and generally become attached to the epidermis. These hairs will start to shed/ fall out in about 1-3 weeks after the therapy because the epidermis is renewed. In the course of this period it will seem that the hairs are growing since the epidermis is pushing them out.
The hair will become reduced in numbers, finer in texture, less pigmented and overall the hair will grow back less visible in the treatment area.
